Senior officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were reportedly forced to escape from their offices when the party’s secretariat was besieged by angry members.
The protesters, who were said to be against the party's governorship candidate for Rivers State and former Minister of State for Education,Nyesom Wike invaded the PDP office with a coffin on Wednesday, December 3.
According to Sahara Reporters, the protesters ordered some PDP officials to leave and even warned the party’s women leader, Kema Chikwe to leave the premises or risk being beaten up.
The protesters also reportedly sang war songs and blocked the entrance to the secretariat with a canopy.
The demonstrators were later dispersed by police officers and five of them were arrested.
