Busted Robbery Suspect arrested while driving stolen car

Saheed Oyedare and his gang of car robbers were arrested while driving a stolen car in Lagos.

A car robbery suspect, Saheed Oyedare, has been arrested by men of the police while driving a stolen car in the Badagry area of Lagos.

Police attached to the Federal Highway Patrol, Agbara, nabbed Saheed while he was driving a stolen ford salon car marked FST 598 XL at the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

Two other occupants of the car were also arrested alongside Saheed Oyedare.

According to Punch, the suspects have confessed that they snatched the ford salon car from a man at the Lagos Island on Wednesday, November 5.

They will be charged to court after investigations have been concluded by the police.

But for a stroke of luck which saw the establishment of a university in Julius Agwu's hometown, the 'Crack Ya Ribs' comedian may never have gone to school or even been able to speak English.

Speaking exclusively to Pulse, Julius revealed that the establishment of UNIPORT in his hometown played a role in him attending school and also his eventual choice of Theatre Arts as a course of study in the university.

"I grew up in Choba which was a village but is very much a town now. It is where UNIPORT is located" he revealed.

"Thank God the school was in my village if not I won't have gone to school. I was a village boy to the core, I would wake up in the morning, go to the farm and then go for catechism classes as well. I used to scale the fence into the campus to play with the lecturer's children, that's where I acquired socialisation skills."

She is seeking to represent the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency of Ogun State at the House of Representatives.

The actress will be contesting for office on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Other entertainers who are now politicians include Desmond Olusola Elliot, Kate Henshaw, 9ice and Muma Gee amongst others.

A cousin of Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okerekehas been reportedly arrested for raping a 300 Level female student of the University of Lagos. The student named Arionla alleged that Prince Daniel Okereke raped her at his Mende home on Thursday, November 6.

Arionla, 22, told Sun that she and Prince Daniel became friends after meeting through an online dating website.

“We became friends online and I gave him my number. He kept calling, requesting to see me in school and I kept giv­ing him one excuse or the other. He actually said that he wanted me to be his friend and I declined that I am a student and should be allowed to face my studies,” Arinola toldSun.

On that fateful day, Arionla said Prince Daniel called to inform her that he was in the school premises. Arionla said she told Prince that she was sick and he volunteered to drive her to the pharmacy to get drugs, a gesture that got her impressed. After buying the drugs, they drove to a fast food joint to grab a meal, but Prince Daniel asked her to join him to a sit out joint where she could relax to eat her meal only to drive her to his house in Mende, Maryland.

According to what Arionla told Sun,  the suspect, Prince Daniel Okereke, lured her into his home and subdued her with the aid of his security guard before pouncing on her and raping her severely.

“When we got to his house, I told him that I was not interested in having sex with him, he called two of his security guards to help him to tie me up and seal my mouth. He then brought out his belt and started flogging me,” Arionla narrated to Sun.

After several rape sessions which lasted for more than 30 minutes, Arionla revealed that Prince Daniel ordered her to pick her bags and get out of the house. Angry and bitter about her ordeal, Arionla said she started destroying the properties in his house.

According to the report,  angry neighbours of Prince Daniel who were not aware of what led to her destroying properties in the compound including a car, called the police from the Area F, Ikeja who arrested her for assault. With her statement to the police coupled with the bruises on her boy as evidence, a case of attempted rape was established and Prince Daniel was arrested but later released on bail while Arinola was admitted to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

Suspecting that the case might be swept under the carpet due to Prince Daniel's connections- he is also the cousin of former DG of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Ndi Okereke-Onyuike- Arinola and her family reported the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti who rearrested Prince Daniel Okereke.

According to the Sun report, 37-year old Prince Daniel Okereke has admitted to the crime and blamed the devil for the act.

“I am so ashamed of myself. We are family of professionals whom you know very well. I don’t know what got into my head. I am sorry and plead for forgive­ness,” Daniel pleaded.

Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Kenneth Nwosu, has confirmed the case and also revealed that the autopsy report from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, established that there was an actual penetration in the course of the scuffle.

Prince Daniel alongside one his security men, Idris Abubakar, who aided him in the rape crime have also been arraigned before a Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court. They were hit with a five count charge bordering on conspiracy, assault, rape and threat to life.

A man, Ge Yifeng has been arrested after admitting to killing his wife in China.

Ge Yifeng and his wife, Chen, both 24, got married recently but Chen chose to live with her parents in Huangcun, County, Anhui. Two months into their marriage, after series of disagreements and clashes, the couple got in an argument in the car which led to Ge stabbing his wife multiple times with a pair of scissors and also hitting her with a hammer.

The 24-year-old Ge Yifeng was arrested on charges of murder as it was also revealed that after killing his wife, he sent photos of her dead body to her family, friends and relatives to reveal the news of the death to them. After Yifeng killed Chen, he called her family and friends and told them what had happened. They did not believe him, so as evidence, he sent them photos of her body.

After surrendering to the police, Yifeng confessed to the crime, and said that he could not get along with his mother-in-law, who told him that he was not worthy of her daughter.

He added that he was extremely unhappy living with his wife’s family. Yifeng said that before they got married, they both agreed to move in together. However, after their wedding, she suddenly changed her mind and wanted to go to Beijing, to live with her family.
